Who would've thought two brothers could end up battling each other at the top of MotoGP? Yep, Marc and Alex Marquez are stealing the spotlight this season as they lead the championship standings. Marc is currently 24 points ahead of his younger brother, but it’s not just about the numbers — their family bond is getting tested on the racetrack.

Marc himself admitted that the situation feels unreal. “It feels normal now, but it’s really not,” he told TNT Sports. “We’re brothers fighting for a MotoGP championship. We’re first and second in the standings. This just doesn’t happen every day.”

But Marc knows that in moments like this, there are only two ways their relationship could go: grow stronger or fall apart. “We’ve chosen to become closer than ever. I can’t hurt him, and he can’t hurt me. We both want the best for each other. That’s what makes our parents happy,” Marc said.

While their dad is often seen at the racetrack, it’s their mom who keeps in touch constantly. “I can’t imagine it,” Marc joked. “I don’t even have kids! Now imagine having both your sons fighting for the MotoGP title!”

Alex chimed in, adding, “I think they’re really proud of the situation, but even more proud of how close we are as brothers. For parents, it means more to see their kids supporting each other than just seeing them win races.”

Marc even playfully pointed out, “Our dad stays neutral, but our mom? She supports him!” he said, nodding toward Alex.

Here’s another twist: the brothers are riding two different versions of the Ducati. Marc has the factory 2025 version — the one that’s been giving Pecco Bagnaia all kinds of trouble this season. Marc started feeling some of those same issues last weekend at Silverstone.

Meanwhile, Alex is riding the 2024 version with the Gresini team — and he’s been crushing it. He’s even outperforming factory rider Bagnaia consistently this year.

Next up? MotoGP heads to Aragon next weekend — home turf for the Marquez brothers. Things are about to get even more intense as they fight for the title, not just as rivals, but as family.

This championship isn’t just about who finishes first — it’s about brotherhood, respect, and making history. Whether it’s Marc keeping his lead or Alex pulling off a surprise, this season is shaping up to be one for the ages.
