Jurassic World: Rebirth Gets Strong Early Reviews Ahead of Global Premiere. |
The summer blockbuster Jurassic World: Rebirth is just weeks away from hitting theaters, but early screenings have already sparked a wave of reactions from critics—and most of them are overwhelmingly positive.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Godzilla, this new installment focuses on a fresh storyline: mutated dinosaurs carrying a unique form of DNA that could revolutionize medicine. This high-stakes concept sets the stage for an intense race among humans to control the powerful genetic material.
With Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali leading the cast, expectations for this rebooted franchise entry are understandably high—and the early feedback suggests the film delivers.
Critics Applaud Visuals, Cast, and Nostalgic Vibe
According to the first reviews, Rebirth may be the strongest revival of the franchise in years. Jazz Tangcay from Variety called it "a roaring triumph and the perfect start to a new trilogy," praising the new dinosaur designs and the film’s respectful nod to the 1993 original.
Perri Nemiroff pointed out that while CGI is heavily used, the director's approach makes it work. “Gareth Edwards shot in real locations and on film, and you can feel the difference. It’s immersive and grounded.”
Clayton Davis emphasized the film’s cinematic quality: “This isn’t just a popcorn flick—it actually feels like a real movie, and that’s a big plus.”
Mark Newbold echoed those thoughts, saying, “Great characters, a fantastic score, stunning cinematography, and amazing visuals. I already want to watch it again.”
Fun, Thrills, and a Bit of Heart
Maude Garrett noted the film balances tension with emotion. “Some parts are predictable, some are touching or even a little gross, but overall it’s a fun, nostalgic ride.”
Draven called it “a fantastic addition to the franchise,” praising how it captures the spirit of the original and pulls viewers right into the adventure.
TheConnorWebb went as far as saying, “The story might be silly, but who cares? It’s brilliant. The dinosaurs are phenomenal, and Jonathan Bailey might be one of my new favorite actors. My heart was pounding, and I felt pure joy watching it.”
But Not Everyone's Impressed
Of course, not all reviews were glowing. YouTuber John Flickinger of The Flick Pick found the movie dull and soulless. “The mutated dinosaur concept on a new island had potential. But what we got was a sequence of scenes that don’t go anywhere. I actually started rooting for the dinosaurs because the human characters were so bland and had zero chemistry.”
Global Release Date Confirmed
Jurassic World: Rebirth is set to premiere in international theaters on July 2, 2025. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the franchise or just looking for a thrilling summer movie, this one is definitely worth keeping on your radar.
