Sanggau Regent, Drs. Yohanes Ontot, M.Si, officially opened the Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) of the Catholic Church Music Development and Training Institute (LP3KD) of Sanggau Regency for 2025. The event took place on the 2nd floor of Hotel Harvey, Sanggau City, on Tuesday (September 23, 2025).
The meeting was held as part of preparations for the upcoming Pesparani at the regency level, which will be hosted in Parindu District in 2026.
In his remarks, Regent Yohanes Ontot emphasized the importance of this Rakerda as a platform to strengthen LP3KD’s programs.
He noted that beyond technical preparations for Pesparani, the meeting should also accommodate LP3KD branches at the sub-district level, especially in fostering and developing the Catholic community.
“My hope is that LP3KD continues to accommodate every branch at the sub-district level. It’s not only about preparing for the competition but also about ensuring continuous community development. This event should sharpen the artistic skills of the Catholic faithful while strengthening their faith in God,” said Yohanes Ontot.
The Regent also stressed that synergy among LP3KD branches is key to a successful Pesparani. With the hierarchical structure of the Church—from the Pope, Bishops, and Pastors, down to the parish level—he believes coordination will not be difficult.
“Our task is simply to ensure synergy so that institutions across the region can unite as a strong foundation,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sanggau Deputy Regent and Rakerda Committee Chair, Susana Herpena, described the event as a milestone in the journey toward Pesparani 2026.
She said that Rakerda was not just another routine agenda but rather a strategic forum to align visions and design a solid work plan.
“This is where we will discuss many things, from selecting song materials and preparing participants mentally, to formulating strategies so Sanggau’s contingent can perform at its best. I hope everyone here contributes actively with fresh ideas to achieve collective success,” said Susana.
She further underlined that the church choir competition in Pesparani is not merely about winning but also about glorifying God.
“Every note we sing and every harmony we create is an expression of our faith. That’s why this Rakerda should be a momentum to strengthen brotherhood, enhance musical quality, and deepen spirituality,” Susana concluded.
The 2025 LP3KD Rakerda is expected to produce a comprehensive plan that ensures the success of the 2026 Pesparani in Sanggau Regency.
Beyond the competition, this effort is seen as a way to build stronger synergy among church institutions while fostering the cultural and spiritual identity of the Catholic community in the region.
The Sanggau government has also committed to fully support the event to ensure smooth execution and bring pride to the regency at a broader level.
