Rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially been sentenced by a federal court in New York on Thursday (October 3, 2025).

Judge Arun Subramanian handed down the verdict after Diddy was found guilty in a high-profile federal case involving sex trafficking and abuse allegations that have followed him since late 2023.

The sentencing marks one of the most talked-about celebrity trials of the year, drawing global attention.

During the hearing at the Manhattan Federal Court, Diddy received a decades-long prison sentence. Prosecutors argued that Combs engaged in a long-standing pattern of violence and exploitation against several women, including his former partner Cassie Ventura.

Testimonies from Nicole Westmoreland and multiple other women described abusive behavior, which was later supported by digital evidence collected from Combs’ personal phones and emails.

“This was a calculated and systematic pattern of exploitation and abuse,” prosecutors said in court.

“A strong sentence is necessary to deliver justice for the victims.” Diddy’s defense team indicated plans to appeal, but Judge Subramanian stated the ruling is final and legally binding.

The impact of the verdict was immediate across the entertainment industry. Several of Diddy’s business contracts with music labels, fashion brands, and premium liquor companies were reported to be frozen following the sentencing.

International media outlets described the ruling as “the end of an era” for Puff Daddy, once seen as a global hip-hop icon for more than three decades.

Meanwhile, the public is waiting for further updates on related civil lawsuits filed by Cassie Ventura and other alleged victims.
