| Student Clash in Tegal Goes Viral — Police, Schools, and Parents Step In Quickly. |
Tegal — Residents in Talang District were shocked after a video of a student brawl went viral on Instagram and TikTok on November 28, 2025. The footage showed a group of students involved in a fight at the Ekoproyo intersection in Bengle Village, an incident that reportedly took place on Tuesday, November 26.
Once the video spread online, the Talang Police moved fast. Officers summoned the students involved, along with their parents and school representatives, to clarify what actually happened and calm public concern.
A mediation meeting was held on Wednesday, November 3, 2025, at the Talang Police Station. The session was led directly by the Talang Police Chief, Iptu Wantoro, who brought both parties together to discuss the incident in a calm and constructive setting.
During the mediation, the students admitted their mistake, apologized, and promised not to repeat the same actions. Parents and school representatives also stepped in to provide guidance.
“They understood their mistake, apologized, and committed to not getting involved in fights again,” Wantoro explained on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
To formalize their commitment, all parties signed an official statement letter — including the students, their parents, and the school, with the police as witnesses. The agreement also emphasized that both sides must avoid any provocative behavior or social media activity that could spark further conflict.
The Talang Police stated that this persuasive approach is part of their effort to prevent juvenile delinquency and guide students toward better discipline, especially in the digital era. They also reminded the students to be more responsible on social media and maintain their school’s reputation.
With the peaceful resolution reached, authorities hope similar incidents won’t happen again and that students can return to focusing on their studies in a safe, orderly, and supportive environment.
