West Java Deputy Governor, Erwan Setiawan, is inviting the public to join watch parties (nobar) for the BRI Super League match between Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA).
Erwan has also asked local leaders in 27 regencies and cities across West Java to organize watch parties, whether in government halls or sports arenas, so that everyone can feel the excitement of this Indonesian El Clasico.
"Persib isn’t just the pride of Bandung City—it belongs to all of West Java. I encourage the public and local leaders to hold watch parties in their areas," said Erwan after a coordination meeting on match security at the Bandung Police Headquarters on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The Persib vs Persija match is always the most anticipated event for Bobotoh and Jakmania fans. In fact, tickets were already sold out three days before the match. For this reason, Deputy Governor Erwan urged Bobotoh not to force their way into the stadium, as security checkpoints will be in place around GBLA.
At the same event, West Java Police Chief, Inspector General Rudi Setiawan, explained that the match security will be fully handled by the West Java Police. This ensures smooth coordination with the National Police Headquarters and Metro Jaya Police for better security management.
"We will monitor key points, including digital spaces, because there are often social media posts from certain individuals trying to provoke chaos," said Rudi.
In addition, strict security will be applied at all entry points to Bandung, including train stations and road access, to prevent away team fans from entering, as PSSI rules prohibit visiting supporters from attending.
"All access points to Bandung will be tightly monitored. We want to ensure the match is safe and enjoyable for all Bobotoh fans," Rudi concluded.
