In its statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said the operation struck locations where Ukrainian long-range attack drones were being prepared before launch.

The strikes were conducted using a combination of tactical aircraft, reconnaissance drones, missile systems, and artillery fire. Russian authorities claim the operation disrupted drone launch activities considered a threat to Russian forces and territory.

The operation forms part of Russia’s broader military campaign aimed at weakening Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities.

Operations Across Several Regions

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the strikes also targeted Ukrainian military personnel and equipment in several frontline areas.

The affected locations include settlements near Annovka, Belitskoye, Grishino, Zolotoy Kolodez, Krasnoyarskoye, Kucherov Yar, and Matyashevo in the Donetsk region. Additional operations were reported near Gavrilovka and Novopavlovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region.

Russian officials said the targets included personnel and equipment from multiple Ukrainian units, including mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade, assault regiments, a marine brigade, territorial defense brigades, and National Guard brigades.

Russia Reports Ukrainian Military Losses

Russia also reported developments across several operational sectors. The Tsentr battlegroup was said to have improved its frontline positions over the past 24 hours.

According to the statement, more than 345 Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated, while a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, and three armored personnel carriers were destroyed.

In another sector, the Yug battlegroup reportedly strengthened its positions along the frontline. Russian officials said Ukrainian forces lost more than 150 personnel, a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier, and three armored combat vehicles.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces were reported to have lost up to 235 troops in the operational area of Russia’s Sever battlegroup, and up to 265 personnel in the Vostok battlegroup’s zone of operations.

The West battlegroup also claimed improvements in tactical positions and reported Ukrainian losses of up to 180 troops and one tank. In the area of operations of the Dnepr battlegroup, Russian officials said up to 80 Ukrainian servicemen and 18 military vehicles were destroyed.

Ongoing Developments On The Frontline

The reported strikes on drone launch sites reflect the continuing intensity of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Both sides frequently report battlefield operations and casualty figures as the war continues.

Fighting remains active along multiple sections of the frontline, with military operations ongoing and no immediate signs of a significant de-escalation in the near future.
