20th Century Studios has officially released the final trailer for Predator Planet of Death, the latest chapter in the legendary intergalactic hunter franchise. The film is set to hit international theaters on November 5, 2025, promising a major shift in the series. For the first time, the story focuses on the Predator itself, not the humans being hunted, as it fights for survival.
The plot centers on a young member of the Yautja species named Dek, played by newcomer Dimitrius Kolomatangi. Dek is exiled from his clan for failing a test of honor and sent to the dangerous planet Kalisk. There, he must prove his worth to his father by facing the deadliest creature on the planet, a monster nearly impossible to kill. The story promises intense action and the brutal conflict typical of the Predator series, now with deeper emotional stakes.
During his journey, Dek finds an unexpected ally in a damaged android named Tiya, created by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Tiya is portrayed by Elle Fanning, known for her role in The Great. Fanning’s character adds a fresh dynamic to the Predator franchise, which has long been associated with dark, male-driven narratives. The bond between Dek and Tiya is expected to become the emotional heart of the film, highlighting the struggles of two outcasts fighting for survival.
The movie is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who previously revitalized the Predator series with Prey and contributed to the animated project Predator: Killer of Killers. In an interview with Empire, Trachtenberg called Planet of Death “a true rebirth of the Predator,” inviting audiences to understand a different side of the legendary hunter, including its code of honor and personal struggles.
