Elon Musk’s Grok Can Now Make 15-Second Erotic Videos, Sparking Controversy

Elon Musk’s company xAI has officially launched a new feature called Imagine in its Grok chatbot, allowing users to create 15-second images and videos — including erotic content. The feature, available since early August 2025, is accessible to SuperGrok and Premium+ X subscribers on iOS devices. While it offers an “adult mode” that can display partial nudity, the system still restricts the creation of fully explicit pornography.
Imagine works by turning text or reference images into short videos complete with voiceovers. One X user, going by the handle CardanoNSFW, shared an example video showcasing Grok’s ability to produce provocative scenes. Previously, xAI had introduced a hypersexualized anime companion, so the addition of NSFW elements to Grok is seen as a continuation of that approach.
Despite internal moderation, many social media users in the US have successfully generated “18+” content featuring celebrities like Taylor Swift, Margot Robbie, and Zendaya. Even a parody image of Elon Musk with a goose has made the rounds. “Technically, the system restricts full pornography. But the potential for misuse remains high, especially for creating celebrity deepfakes,” wrote TechCrunch, which tested the feature. The outlet also noted that Grok Imagine’s visuals are far from realistic, with wax-like skin textures and cartoonish features.
The launch of Grok Imagine has sparked widespread debate over ethics, privacy, and data security. Tech experts warn that while the quality isn’t perfect yet, the ease of creating AI-generated erotic content could accelerate the spread of harmful deepfakes — including those involving public figures. So far, xAI has not announced plans for stricter limitations, while the feature’s popularity continues to rise in online communities.
