House Commission XIII Holds Hearing on Arya Daru Case, Family Demands Probe into Figures Vara and Dion.

The House of Representatives Commission XIII held a public hearing (RDP) with the family of the late Arya Daru Pangayunan at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (Sept 30, 2025). During the session, the family’s legal counsel, Nicholay Aprilindo, urged authorities to thoroughly investigate several individuals who had met Arya before his death.

Nicholay highlighted the importance of questioning a figure named Vara, reportedly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu). Vara was said to have had lunch with Arya shortly before his passing. He also called for further scrutiny of a man named Dion, who was with Arya at multiple locations on the same day.

“Please follow up on the initial examination and develop it further, particularly regarding someone named Vara,” Nicholay stated during the hearing.

“He was with the late Arya after visiting the Foreign Ministry, then at a lunch in Pos Bloc, and later in the afternoon at Grand Indonesia. There’s also Dion, who was together with Arya at the time,” he added.

In addition to Vara and Dion, Nicholay underscored the need to trace the two taxi drivers who drove Arya to several destinations that day. Their testimonies, he said, could provide crucial details to complete the chain of events.

According to Nicholay, findings from a forensic psychology examination serve as the family’s foundation for pressing the investigation forward. While Arya’s cause of death has been suggested to point in a certain direction, the family insists on a deeper probe to uncover the full truth.

We are basing this on the results of the forensic psychology test. The report clearly stated this matter must be followed up,” Nicholay stressed.

The hearing was also attended by Arya’s father, Subaryono, and his wife, Meta Ayu Puspitasari. Commission XIII promised to take note of the family’s input and coordinate with law enforcement to ensure the case continues to be investigated. Lawmakers also pledged to monitor further developments so that the process does not stall.

Komisi XIII DPR Gelar RDP Soal Kasus Arya Daru, Keluarga Minta Pemeriksaan Sosok Vara dan Dion.

Komisi XIII DPR RI menggelar rapat dengar pendapat (RDP) dengan keluarga almarhum Arya Daru Pangayunan di kompleks parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta, Senin (30/9/2025). Dalam rapat itu, penasihat hukum keluarga, Nicholay Aprilindo, meminta agar pihak berwenang mendalami sejumlah sosok yang sempat bertemu dengan Arya sebelum kematiannya.

Nicholay menekankan pentingnya pemeriksaan terhadap seseorang bernama Vara, yang disebut berasal dari Kementerian Luar Negeri (Kemlu). Vara disebut terakhir makan siang bersama Arya sebelum peristiwa nahas itu. Selain itu, sosok bernama Dion juga diminta untuk diperiksa lebih lanjut karena berada di beberapa lokasi bersama Arya.

“Tolong didalami pemeriksaan dan dikembangkan pemeriksaan pertama terhadap seseorang bernama Vara,” ujar Nicholay dalam rapat.

“Yang saat itu berada bersama almarhum ketika dari Kemlu ke makan siang di Pos Bloc, kemudian pada sore harinya berada di Grand Indonesia. Kemudian Dion, yang bersama-bersama juga dengan almarhum pada saat itu,” sambungnya.

Selain Vara dan Dion, Nicholay menyoroti keberadaan dua sopir taksi yang mengantar Arya ke sejumlah lokasi pada hari kejadian. Ia meminta agar keterangannya ditelusuri untuk melengkapi rangkaian fakta.

Menurut Nicholay, hasil pemeriksaan psikologi forensik yang sudah dilakukan menjadi dasar bagi keluarga untuk mendesak pendalaman. Meski indikasi kematian Arya sudah mengarah pada cara tertentu, keluarga tetap meminta proses penyelidikan diperluas demi mengungkap fakta sebenarnya.

“Kami berlandaskan pada hasil pemeriksaan psikologi forensik. Dalam pemeriksaan itu jelas dikatakan bahwa kasus ini harus ditindaklanjuti,” tegas Nicholay.

Rapat ini turut dihadiri ayah Arya, Subaryono, serta istri Arya, Meta Ayu Puspitasari. Komisi XIII DPR RI berjanji akan menindaklanjuti masukan keluarga dengan mengoordinasikan informasi kepada aparat penegak hukum terkait. Ke depan, DPR disebut akan terus memantau perkembangan penyelidikan agar kasus ini tidak berhenti di tengah jalan.
