Realme has officially introduced the Realme 15x, a new mid-range smartphone designed for users who want long-lasting battery life and durability without breaking the bank. Launched in India in early October 2025, the Realme 15x enters the market at an affordable starting price of ₹16,999 (around $200).
This phone features a 6.8-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits—a combination rarely found in its price range. It also packs a massive 7,000mAh battery with 60W fast charging, capable of fully charging the device in about an hour.
Solid Performance and Ample Storage
Under the hood, the Realme 15x runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, offering reliable performance for everyday use and even light gaming. It comes in two RAM variants — 6GB and 8GB — and up to 256GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card up to 2TB.
The device ships with Android 15 and Realme UI 6, the company’s latest interface that introduces a cleaner design, smarter notifications, and AI-powered battery optimization.
For photography, the Realme 15x sports a 50MP main camera on the back and another 50MP front camera for high-resolution selfies and video calls. Realme claims its upgraded image processing engine significantly improves low-light shots and color accuracy.
Military-Grade Durability with IP Ratings
What truly sets the Realme 15x apart is its rugged build. The device is IP68 and IP69 rated, meaning it’s resistant to dust and water. It also meets MIL-STD-810H military standards, ensuring extra protection against drops and harsh environments.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a hybrid dual-SIM slot. The overall package is designed for users who live an active lifestyle and need a phone that can keep up.
According to Madhav Sheth, Realme’s Global Vice President, the launch of the Realme 15x is part of the brand’s plan to expand in the value rugged phone category.
“Many users are asking for affordable phones that can last longer and survive tough conditions. The Realme 15x is our answer to that demand,” said Sheth during the launch event.
Price and Availability
The Realme 15x comes in two configurations:
-
6GB + 128GB — ₹16,999 (around $200)
-
8GB + 256GB — ₹19,999 (around $235)
The phone is currently available in India, but Realme is expected to roll it out to Southeast Asian markets — including Indonesia — later this year. If that happens, the Realme 15x could pose strong competition to popular mid-range rivals such as the Redmi Note 14, Infinix GT 20 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy M15.
What It Means for the Market
If launched globally, the Realme 15x could become a top pick for users looking for a durable, long-lasting smartphone on a budget. Its massive battery, 144Hz display, and waterproof design make it a rare all-rounder in the under-$250 category.
With Indonesia and other Asian markets showing strong demand for big-battery smartphones, the Realme 15x has a solid chance to dominate the late-2025 budget segment.
