Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, alongside the launch of the flagship Xiaomi 17 series on Monday (Sept 30, 2025) in China.
Both devices run on the brand-new HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and pack a huge 9,200 mAh battery to power users through their daily activities.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro comes with more powerful specs, featuring an 11.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2136 x 3200 pixels, up to 144 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 800 nits.
It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with an Adreno GPU, up to 16 GB of RAM, and up to 512 GB of internal storage.
On the camera side, it sports a 50 MP main shooter and a 32 MP front camera.
The tablet also supports 67W fast charging and 22W reverse wired charging, making it a reliable option for mobile professionals.

Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi Pad 8 offers a more affordable option with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of internal storage.
Its camera setup is more modest, featuring a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front shooter.
Although it carries the same 9,200 mAh battery, charging is slightly slower at 45W.
Both tablets come with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, a USB Type-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and four Dolby Atmos-powered speakers.
In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro starts at 2,999 yuan (around $410) for the 8/128 GB variant, while the standard Xiaomi Pad 8 is priced from 2,199 yuan (around $300) with the same memory configuration.
Analysts predict that these new releases will intensify competition in both the premium and mid-range tablet markets, putting pressure on long-time rivals like Samsung and Apple.
