Cabinet Secretary Teddy Ensures Readiness Of National Internship Program For Fresh Graduates.

Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed that the government is ready to implement the National Internship Program designed for recent university graduates. This program is open to fresh graduates within one year of graduation, both bachelor's and diploma holders, to gain work experience in various private companies and state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

“Minister of Manpower has moved quickly. We checked the program to make sure it can directly benefit the community,” said Seskab Teddy after attending a meeting with Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Deputy Minister Afriansyah Noor, and several officials from the Ministry of Manpower in Jakarta, Friday (October 10, 2025).

Registration for the National Internship Program is open until October 15, 2025. The internship will begin on October 20 and run for six months. In its initial phase, the program will involve around 20,000 participants and will be gradually expanded to reach hundreds of thousands in the following stages.

In addition to gaining valuable work experience across various industries, participants will also receive a monthly stipend from the government based on the provincial minimum wage (UMP) where they intern.

“For example, in Jakarta, the minimum wage is IDR 5.4 million. Each month, interns will receive that amount, while in other regions it will adjust according to the local minimum wage,” Teddy explained.

He also expressed appreciation to all parties who worked hard to prepare the program’s implementation. The government will continue to monitor and evaluate the process to ensure it runs smoothly, achieves its goals, and provides real benefits for the public.

“We just need to supervise and check the implementation carefully. So far, everything is going well, thanks to the dedication of the Ministry of Manpower staff. Thank you, let’s continue this collaboration,” he added.

The National Internship Program is expected to be a concrete step by the government to enhance the competence and competitiveness of Indonesia’s young generation in facing the professional world.
