| Dwayne Johnson Transforms in the Trailer for A24's Sports Drama "The Crushing Machine" |
A24 recently dropped the trailer for the biographical drama The Crushing Machine, which tells the story of legendary MMA fighter and UFC champion Mark Kerr. In this film, Dwayne Johnson, known for his passion for wrestling and combat sports, takes on the role of Kerr.
The movie will highlight the ups and downs of the athlete’s life, focusing on his aggressive fighting style, his battle with addiction, as well as themes of love and friendship at the peak of his career in the year 2000. Directed by Benny Safdie, who previously gained attention for his work on the thriller Uncut Gems and appeared in films like Oppenheimer and Licorice Pizza, the film also features Safdie in future projects such as Odyssey and Happy Gilmore 2.
Alongside Johnson, the film stars Oscar-nominated Emily Blunt, who previously worked with him on Disney's Jungle Cruise. The cast also includes Whitney Moore, Bas Rutten, Paul Leysenby, and Jason P. Tremblay.
The Crushing Machine is set to be released internationally on October 3.
