| Mohamed Salah Reveals Why Liverpool’s 2024/25 Premier League Title Feels ‘Way Better’ |
Mohamed Salah has revealed that Liverpool’s 2024/25 Premier League title triumph feels "way better" compared to their historic 2019/20 win.
The Reds mathematically sealed the title on Sunday after a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. This marks only their second Premier League title in the modern era, having waited 30 years before their first in 2020.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Salah said:
"This is way better, 100%."
His reasoning? Despite Liverpool's previous iconic team – featuring stars like Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, and legendary manager Jurgen Klopp – now mostly gone, the club managed to achieve greatness once again under a new leadership and a new squad.
"Without Sadio, without Jurgen, without Bobby, without everybody, it feels more special. We have a different group now, different manager, so to be able to do it again is something special," Salah explained.
The Egyptian forward, who recently extended his contract with Liverpool until 2027, scored his 28th Premier League goal of the season during Sunday’s match. Salah is also on track to win the Golden Boot, and with just three more assists in the final four games, he could break the Premier League's single-season assist record – currently held jointly by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry (20 assists).
One major difference between Liverpool’s 2024/25 and 2019/20 titles is how the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the latter. Back then, Liverpool had won 26 of their first 27 games before the season was paused for over three months. When the trophy was finally lifted, fans weren’t even allowed inside Anfield to celebrate.
This time around, the celebrations were full of life. Anfield was packed, the atmosphere electric, and fans got the chance to witness the trophy lift firsthand.
Moreover, Liverpool have now matched Manchester United’s record of 20 English top-flight titles, reclaiming a shared honor that had long been in their hands before 2011.
With Salah leading the way and a new era dawning, Liverpool fans have every reason to dream bigger for the future.
