A Moving Story of Workers on Labor Day 2025: Aspirations Heard, a Gift from President Prabowo. |
Jakarta – Thousands of workers from all over Indonesia gathered at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Thursday, May 1, 2025, to celebrate International Labor Day. This annual event wasn’t just a platform for workers to voice their demands but also a heartfelt moment where President Prabowo Subianto showed his genuine attention toward the working class.
Among the workers was Hendi, a laborer from Bekasi, who shared his pride in witnessing firsthand the attention the government, especially President Prabowo, gave to workers. According to Hendi, President Prabowo’s presence at the event was proof that the government truly listens to workers' voices.
“It means a lot that President Prabowo is here, listening to us. We’re grateful to him for paying attention,” said Hendi proudly.
Hendi didn’t stop at just expressing his gratitude—he also offered his well wishes for President Prabowo to remain healthy and continue serving the people.
From Garut, Ria attended the event with over a thousand of her colleagues. This was her first time at the Monas celebration, and she couldn’t contain her excitement when President Prabowo welcomed them personally.
“We came from Garut with over 1,400 people. We’re so happy! This is our first time here, and to be greeted by President Prabowo was incredible. We’re proud and hope that everything he announced will come true,” Ria said enthusiastically.
But the event wasn’t just about speeches and proclamations. There was also a memorable moment involving Muhammad Syaifudin, a worker who had a unique experience. He had jokingly asked President Prabowo for a hat to protect him from the intense heat. To his surprise, the President’s secretary, Teddy Indra Wijaya, made his wish come true, and a hat was promptly handed to him.
“I just said, ‘Mr. President, it’s hot, I need a hat,’ and unexpectedly, I got one! I’m so happy, out of all the people, I’m the one who got the gift. Thank you, President Prabowo,” Muhammad said, proudly showing off the hat he had received.
This moment wasn’t just a personal memory; it symbolized the growing bond between the government and the workers.
The 2025 Labor Day event at Monas wasn’t just about shouting out demands—it also carried a deep sense of warmth, illustrating a strong connection between the nation’s leaders and its working people. Workers left the event full of hope that the promises made would soon come to fruition, paving the way for a better future.
This year’s Labor Day celebration at Monas reminded everyone that even the smallest gestures, like giving a hat, can have a big impact, lifting spirits and strengthening the relationship between the government and its people.
