| Pirates of the Caribbean Reboot: Original Cast Members Set to Return, Says Producer. |
After more than a year of ongoing rumors, it looks like the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is officially making a comeback. Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently confirmed that some familiar faces from the original cast will be appearing in the upcoming reboot—although he's keeping their identities a secret for now.
“There will be some returning actors… but I won’t say who. You’ll have to guess,” Bruckheimer teased in a recent interview.
A Mix of Old and New Characters
While Disney has yet to release any official information—no title, no release date—what we do know is that the new installment will introduce fresh characters alongside returning favorites.
This news has naturally reignited speculation about which characters could be making a comeback.
Will Johnny Depp Return as Jack Sparrow?
One of the biggest questions among fans is whether Johnny Depp will return as Captain Jack Sparrow. Initially, Depp was not expected to be involved with the new project, especially after his very public legal battle with actress Amber Heard. He even stated that he wouldn’t work with Disney again, “not for $300 million and a million alpacas.”
However, according to reports from The DisInsider, Disney may secretly be developing a version of the film that includes Depp in a limited or cameo role.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has long supported Depp and hinted several times that he could return. In fact, Bruckheimer previously revealed that two different scripts are currently in development—one featuring actress Margot Robbie, and another that may include Depp.
Orlando Bloom Open to Reprising His Role
Another original cast member, Orlando Bloom—who played Will Turner—has also expressed interest in returning to the franchise. According to Bloom, bringing back the core original cast would be essential for a successful reboot.
Although Disney has not made any formal announcements regarding Pirates of the Caribbean 6, fan excitement continues to grow. With the possibility of both new characters and returning legends like Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, the reboot promises to offer something exciting for longtime fans and new audiences alike.
