| Tyrone Mings Signs Contract Extension with Aston Villa Through 2027 — Ready to Lead the Team Forward. |
Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has officially signed a contract extension that keeps him at the club until 2027. Originally, his previous deal was set to expire next year, but now Mings has committed his future to Villa for several more seasons.
Since joining Villa from Bournemouth in 2019, Mings has been a key part of the team’s defense. He’s especially been trusted by head coach Unai Emery, who arrived in late 2022.
Mings has made 180 appearances for Aston Villa across all competitions. After coming back from a serious knee injury, he played in 14 Premier League matches during the 2024-25 season.
Last season, Villa just missed out on qualifying for the Champions League for the second year in a row after a tough 2-0 loss to Manchester United on the final day. Mings was an unused substitute in that game.
Even though Villa dropped into the Europa League after only one season in Europe’s top club competition, Mings remains optimistic about the team’s future under Emery’s leadership. He believes the best is still ahead.
“We’ve been through quite the journey,” Mings said in an interview on the club’s official website. “My belief that we can achieve something really special is stronger than ever. I want to thank the fans, the manager, the staff, and my teammates for their constant support both on and off the field during one of the toughest times in my career. I’m sure next season will be our best one yet.”
