Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs Ossy Dermawan Delivers Four Key Messages to Strengthen Land Services in West Nusa Tenggara. |
Mataram – Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Ossy Dermawan, gave a direct briefing to the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Office of the BPN on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Mataram City Land Office. The visit aimed to boost motivation, strengthen policy direction, and prepare for future challenges in the land affairs sector.
During his speech, Deputy Minister Ossy praised the strong progress made by the BPN in NTB while also sharing four essential messages that he believes must be prioritized moving forward.
What Are the Four Key Points from Deputy Minister Ossy?
-
Strengthening Land Data in Quantity and Quality
He emphasized that land data is a legacy for future generations. Therefore, the accuracy and integrity of the data must be continuously improved. Ossy highlighted the importance of verifying the results of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) to prevent duplication in digital systems. -
Enhancing Institutional Synergy
According to Ossy, strategic collaboration with local governments, law enforcement agencies, and the community is essential. Every land policy should be legally grounded. He urged land offices to be proactive and strategic when dealing with major investments—ensuring not only the investment value but also its legal clarity and societal impact. -
Accelerating Digital Transformation
Digital transformation, such as the adoption of Electronic Land Certificates, is inevitable. However, he noted that public readiness must also be considered. “As public servants, we must be adaptive. But at the same time, we must ensure the community is ready to embrace this change,” he explained. -
Upholding Integrity and Public Service Ethics
In today’s era of social media and public scrutiny, integrity is more important than ever. Deputy Minister Ossy reminded all BPN staff to remain honest, avoid abusing their positions, and stay empathetic toward low-income citizens. “If we sincerely serve the people, we might actually receive more than we expect,” he added.
Who Attended the Meeting?
Deputy Minister Ossy was accompanied by:
-
Wida Ossy Dermawan, Deputy Chairperson of Ikawati ATR/BPN

Why This Matters
This briefing was more than just a meeting—it was a roadmap to help the BPN NTB stay responsive, digitally capable, and legally accountable in handling land affairs. Ossy believes that NTB has enormous potential to become a developed region if its land data systems are well-structured and backed by competent leadership.
"Hopefully, with everyone’s hard work, we can build a solid land data foundation to support NTB’s development without unnecessary obstacles,” Ossy concluded.
Deputy Minister Ossy's four key takeaways—data integrity, cross-sector synergy, digital adaptation, and ethical service—are crucial for the future of land governance in NTB. With strong collaboration and a focus on serving the public, the region is poised to become a leader in land reform and digital innovation in Indonesia.
