West Lombok, Indonesia – The Indonesian government continues its commitment to ensuring land ownership certainty for its citizens. On Sunday, July 27, 2025, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (Wamen ATR/Waka BPN), Ossy Dermawan, officially handed over 228 electronic land certificates to residents of West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province.

This activity is part of the Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) program, which aims to provide strong legal standing for every landowner in the country.

What Did the Deputy Minister Say?

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Ossy emphasized that although the event may seem simple, it carries a deep meaning — it shows that the government is truly present in ensuring fair and legal land administration.

“Today’s event may look modest — handing out land certificates — but it’s actually very meaningful. It shows that President Prabowo Subianto’s administration is here to ensure land affairs are handled correctly,” said Wamen Ossy.

He was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

What Certificates Were Distributed?

In addition to the 228 certificates issued under the PTSL program, five non-PTSL certificates were also handed out, including:

  • Assets belonging to aquaculture fishermen

  • Property owned by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in East Lombok

  • Government assets of Mataram City

  • A house of worship owned by the Catholic Church Council in Mataram

These distributions show that the land certification program benefits a broad range of communities and institutions.

How Many Lands Are Already Certified?

According to data from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs/National Land Agency, out of approximately 443,000 land parcels in West Lombok, around 300,000 parcels have already been certified. While this progress is commendable, Wamen Ossy noted that more effort is still needed to complete land legalization across the region.

What’s the Government’s Next Focus?

Wamen Ossy also relayed a message from Minister Nusron Wahid, stating that around 75–80% of the Ministry’s duties are focused on public services. That’s why the government is prioritizing service transformation through system upgrades and human resource (HR) development.

“We want land services to be fast, simple, and accessible for all. Technology plays a big role, but our human resources must also shift their mindset — be more responsive, and genuinely serve the people,” said Wamen Ossy.

What Did Minister AHY Emphasize?

Minister AHY praised President Prabowo Subianto for fully supporting land reform efforts and emphasized the importance of legal land ownership.

“The state must never back down. We must fight for justice for our people,” he said firmly.

He further added that land certificates are not just administrative documents, but also represent legal ownership and social justice. According to him, modern and transparent land governance can prevent long-term agrarian conflicts.

“Unresolved land conflicts can trigger serious social and political impacts,” Minister AHY warned.

Who Attended the Ceremony?

Several officials were present at the event, including:

  • West Lombok Regent, Lalu Ahmad Zaini

  • Inspector for Region III, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs, Lutfi Zakaria

  • Officials from the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Land Office

  • Local leaders and Forkopimda representatives

The handover of land certificates in West Lombok is more than just a routine activity — it is a strong statement that the government is actively protecting citizens’ land rights. Through the PTSL program and improvements in land services, Indonesia moves one step closer to a fair, modern, and transparent land management system.
