Samsung has officially introduced its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy M36, and it’s already catching attention—not just for its refreshed design, but for the surprising promise of software updates until 2030. While much of the hardware resembles last year’s Galaxy M35, this new release brings a more modern look and a strong value proposition, especially for users who care about long-term support.

The Galaxy M36 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, perfect for browsing, gaming, and everyday use. Protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, the screen offers durability alongside clarity. At the top, you’ll find a small waterdrop-style notch housing a 13MP selfie camera, keeping the front clean and functional.

Triple Camera System and Modernized Design

On the back, the M36 stands out thanks to its triple-camera setup mounted on a raised platform—a clear design shift from the embedded module seen on the Galaxy M35. The main camera clocks in at 50MP, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens for close-up shots. It’s not a flagship photography system, but it's flexible enough for most day-to-day needs.

Under the hood, the M36 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chipset, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. It runs on One UI 7, based on Android 15, and here’s the kicker—Samsung guarantees six major Android OS upgrades for this device. That means the Galaxy M36 is expected to receive updates all the way to Android 21 in 2030, assuming Google sticks to its yearly release cycle.

Big Battery and Stylish Colors

Battery life won’t be a concern thanks to the 5,000mAh cell, which supports 25W fast charging. It’s not the fastest on the market, but more than sufficient for most users. Whether you're a casual browser or someone glued to social media, the M36 is designed to keep up.

As for aesthetics, the device comes in three bold color options: orange, black, and green—each adding a bit of personality to an otherwise practical device.

The Galaxy M36 is now available for purchase in India, with a starting price of ₹22,999 INR, which converts to roughly $275 USD. Samsung has yet to announce availability in other markets, but given the strong specs-to-price ratio, international release seems likely.

The Samsung Galaxy M36 offers a compelling mix of affordability, clean design, and extraordinary software support—traits rarely found together in mid-range phones. While it may not boast flagship-level hardware, its promise of Android updates through 2030 puts it ahead of many competitors in this segment.

If you're looking for a smartphone that won’t break the bank and still stays relevant for years, the Galaxy M36 might be the smart choice you've been waiting for.
