WhatsApp Is Testing Message Reminders So You Don’t Forget to Reply. |
WhatsApp is rolling out a handy new feature for those who often forget to reply to important messages. Instead of pinning chats, starring them, or relying on your memory, you’ll soon be able to set a reminder directly on a specific message.
WhatsApp is currently testing a "Remind Me" feature that lets users set a notification reminder for any chosen message. All you have to do is press and hold the message, tap “Remind Me”, and select a timer—2 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, or even set a custom time.
Once set, a small bell icon will appear on the message. When the time runs out, WhatsApp will send a notification with the content of the message so you don’t miss replying to it.
The feature is already available in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android. So if you’re part of the beta testing program, you can give it a try right now before it rolls out to everyone.
As of now, there’s no official release date for the stable version of this feature—neither for Android nor iOS. But given how useful it is, many users hope it will become available soon.
WhatsApp is also experimenting with automatic reminders. The app will detect unread messages from the contacts you interact with most and send you a reminder in case you missed them by accident. It’s a smart way to help users stay on top of important conversations.
In today’s fast-paced digital world, it’s easy to forget to reply—especially when messages get buried under dozens of others. This new reminder feature could be a game-changer, helping users stay organized and responsive without cluttering their pinned chats.
