To welcome the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, Pontianak Police Chief Kombes Pol Suyono, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., led a community workout at the Car Free Day (CFD) area on Ahmad Yani Street, right in front of Mega Mall, on Sunday morning (August 10, 2025).
The event was attended by Deputy Police Chief AKBP Hendrawan, S.I.K., S.H., M.H., key officials, Pontianak Police personnel, and hundreds of residents who filled the CFD area.
The morning atmosphere was lively with an energetic aerobics session accompanied by upbeat music. Residents eagerly followed the instructor’s moves, while the Police Chief and his team participated with enthusiasm.
“Through this community workout, we are not only keeping our bodies healthy but also strengthening our bonds and unity. May the spirit of independence always live in our hearts,” said the Pontianak Police Chief.
In addition to the workout, the Pontianak Police used this moment to encourage healthy living, promote traffic discipline, and remind people to maintain security ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.
Safety messages were delivered directly to CFD visitors, including reminders to stay alert to potential disturbances during the festivities.
The event received positive responses from residents who appreciated the police’s presence in a relaxed, friendly setting.
According to the Police Chief, similar activities will continue as part of Pontianak Police’s efforts to build closer ties with the community.
“We want Independence Day to be celebrated not only with formal ceremonies but also with activities that benefit health and togetherness,” he added.
