Jakarta – In an electrifying showdown at Superstar Knockout Vol. 3, El Rumi showcased his formidable prowess in the boxing ring by defeating Jefri Nichol in a mere 38 seconds.

The event, held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Saturday night (August 9, 2025), witnessed an emphatic victory for the son of Ahmad Dhani and Maia Estianty, as the match concluded with a technical knockout (TKO) in the first round, much to the audience's astonishment.

The bout commenced at 11:20 p.m. local time, and from the get-go, El Rumi displayed an aggressive stance, dominating with a relentless barrage of punches. Jefri Nichol, valiantly attempting to maneuver and defend, found himself quickly overpowered.

The referee, observing Jefri's compromised ability to defend himself and his subsequent complaint of a dislocated shoulder, halted the fight to ensure the fighters' safety, adhering to the boxing rule that emphasizes self-protection at all times.

An official statement on Instagram @icbchampionship reinforced this principle, highlighting the referee's duty to protect the combatants when one can no longer defend effectively.

While the swift victory added another feather to El Rumi’s cap, it did not eclipse his contemplation over the long-term repercussions associated with boxing.

Speaking candidly in Central Jakarta a day before the match, El opened up about a deeper apprehension that extends beyond immediate injuries—the risk of developing degenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease later in life.

"A typical injury can heal in a month or two, but developing Parkinson’s 10 years down the line is another story altogether," he remarked solemnly, indicating a prevalent concern that shadows his boxing ambitions.

El’s family plays a pivotal role in his wellness, with his mother persistently advocating for him to wear headgear during matches as a preventive measure against potential harm. Support from loved ones, including his girlfriend Syifa Hadju, is laden with concern.

"Women will always be worried, be it your mother or your girlfriend. My mom, especially, is apprehensive because this is boxing," El elaborated. Yet, he remains undeterred in his pursuit, vowing to prioritize safety while aiming for excellence in the sport he loves.

Focused on balancing a promising career with health preservation, El Rumi underscores the vital necessity of complete protective gear and strategic caution during fights. Fans, invigorated by his recent triumph, are eagerly anticipating his next appearance in the ring.

As El Rumi continues to navigate the challenges and rewards of boxing, many await with bated breath to see how he will manage the intricate interplay between pursuing victories and safeguarding his well-being in such a demanding sport.
