Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has once again reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong support for Gaza and Palestine. Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday (September 23, 2025) in New York, Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s consistent stance on pushing for a two-state solution as the only viable path to lasting peace in the Middle East.

“The world must have a free Palestine, but we must also acknowledge, respect, and guarantee the safety and security of Israel. Only then can we achieve true peace, with no more hatred and no more suspicion,” Prabowo said in his speech.

Indonesia Pushes for a Two-State Solution

Prabowo stressed that the two-state solution is not just a political option but a necessity to end decades of conflict. According to him, Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, and people of all faiths should be able to coexist as one human family.

He emphasized that without recognizing Palestine’s right to independence while ensuring Israel’s security, the cycle of violence and hatred would continue endlessly.

A Call to the World

In his address, President Prabowo also urged the international community to work together in realizing this vision of peace. He described the struggle for peace as a long journey that began with past generations and must now be completed by today’s leaders.

“Let us continue the journey of humanity’s hope, a journey that began with our ancestors and a journey that we must complete,” he said.

Indonesia Ready to Send 20,000 Peacekeepers

Prabowo made it clear that Indonesia’s commitment goes beyond political statements. As one of the largest contributors to UN Peacekeeping Forces, Indonesia is ready to deploy up to 20,000 troops to conflict zones, including Gaza and Palestine, Ukraine, and Sudan, if requested by the UN.

“We are ready to deploy 20,000 of our sons and daughters to Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan if this assembly requests it,” Prabowo declared.

Financial Contributions for Peace

Beyond military contributions, Indonesia also pledged to support peace efforts financially. Prabowo underlined that Jakarta’s role will not only be about sending troops but also about providing funds to help rebuild and stabilize conflict areas.

“Not only with troops, we are also ready to contribute financially to safeguard and ensure peace,” he said.

Gaza and Palestine as a Symbol of Humanity

Prabowo’s speech drew global attention, especially on the issue of Gaza and Palestine, which remains a symbol of the fight for freedom and humanitarian justice. For Indonesia, supporting Palestine is not only a matter of foreign policy but also a constitutional mandate and an expression of solidarity.

Observers noted that Indonesia’s strong message could bring fresh momentum amid worsening conflicts. With its position as the largest democracy in Southeast Asia and an active member of the G20, Indonesia’s voice carries significant weight on the global stage.

Indonesia’s commitment to Gaza and Palestine was once again underscored by President Prabowo at the UN. Through a clear push for the two-state solution, readiness to send 20,000 peacekeepers, and financial contributions, Indonesia is showing that diplomacy must be backed by real action.

Now, the world is watching whether the international community will take concrete steps to finally bring lasting peace to the Middle East.
