Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for the crime comedy The Roof Robber, starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst. The film is directed by Derek Cianfrance, known for the acclaimed drama The Place Beyond the Pines, and is based on a true story. The Roof Robber is set to premiere in Russia on October 9, 2025.

The story follows Jeffrey Manchester, a former U.S. Army ranger struggling with a difficult life. To survive, he begins robbing McDonald’s restaurants in an unusual way, sneaking in through holes in the roofs. His daring heists earned him the nickname “Roof Man” in real life. After escaping from prison, Manchester lives unnoticed for six months in a toy store while planning his next moves.

Things change when he meets Lee, a single mother charmed by his personality. Their relationship complicates Manchester’s life as he tries to hide his past while living a new one. When his secret is finally exposed, his story turns into a tense game of cat and mouse.

Alongside Tatum and Dunst, the cast includes Ben Mendelsohn from Ready Player One, LaKeith Stanfield from Knives Out, Juno Temple from Ted Lasso, and Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones fame. This star-studded lineup makes The Roof Robber one of the most anticipated films of the year.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received mostly positive reviews. Critics praised its balance of humor and suspense, as well as Cianfrance’s signature realistic approach, adding emotional depth to Manchester’s character caught between love and crime.

With its unusual true story, The Roof Robber is expected to be one of the most exciting crime comedies of the year. Not only for Channing Tatum’s mix of funny and dramatic scenes, but also for its underlying message about second chances and the line between right and wrong. Paramount hopes the film will entertain while giving viewers something to think about.
