The Narcotics Investigation Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) of Polda Metro Jaya successfully uncovered a marijuana distribution case in the Sunter area, North Jakarta. During the operation, officers arrested a 24-year-old man with the initials MNB at a security post of a delivery service in Sunter, seizing one kilogram of marijuana as evidence.
Acting Head of Unit 5 Sub-Directorate 2 of Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya, IPTU Andri Fajar, explained that the arrest began after receiving a tip from the public about suspected drug activity in the area. After conducting surveillance and analysis, the team managed to apprehend the suspect MNB along with one kilogram of marijuana.
The evidence was found during a search at the scene. Officers discovered a large package of marijuana wrapped in tape, with a total gross weight of one kilogram.
In addition to the marijuana, police also confiscated two cell phones believed to have been used for transactions. Based on initial questioning, MNB admitted that he obtained the marijuana from an individual with the initials D, who is currently listed as a wanted person (DPO). The suspect said he bought the drugs for around IDR 5 million in North Jakarta.
“At the moment, MNB is being held at the Polda Metro Jaya Narcotics Directorate for further investigation,” said IPTU Andri Fajar.
This case highlights the police’s ongoing commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Authorities urge the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to help keep their communities safe and drug-free.
