Jakarta — The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) officially announced the winners of the 1.4 GHz frequency auction on Wednesday (October 15, 2025). Two major companies emerged victorious: PT Telemedia Komunikasi Pratama, a subsidiary of Surge (WIFI), and Eka Mas Republik, the parent company of MyRepublic.
This auction marks an important milestone in strengthening Indonesia’s digital infrastructure, aiming to provide high-speed internet up to 100 Mbps at an affordable price for the public.
Telemedia Secures Six Key Zones
According to the official announcement, PT Telemedia Komunikasi Pratama won Regional I with the highest bid of Rp403.76 billion.
This region includes six major zones across Indonesia:

Zone 4: Banten, Jakarta, Bogor City, Bogor Regency, Depok, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency

Zone 5: West Java (excluding Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas)

Zone 6: Central Java and Yogyakarta

Zone 9: Papua, West Papua, South Papua, Central Papua, Highland Papua, and Southwest Papua

Zone 10: Maluku and North Maluku
With such extensive coverage, Telemedia is expected to strengthen its broadband wireless network, particularly in economic hubs and eastern regions that still need better digital access.
MyRepublic Wins Nine Other Zones
Meanwhile, MyRepublic secured two other regions—Regional II and III—covering a total of nine zones.
The company’s top bids were Rp300.88 billion for Regional II and Rp100.88 billion for Regional III.

Inside the 1.4 GHz Frequency Auction
The 1.4 GHz frequency auction began in July 2025, offering spectrum between 1432 MHz and 1512 MHz—a total bandwidth of 80 MHz.
This frequency will be used for broadband wireless access (BWA), designed to deliver up to 100 Mbps internet speed to users nationwide.

After document verification, technical evaluation, and qualification assessments, three companies advanced to the final round. Eventually, Telemedia and MyRepublic were declared the official winners of the 1.4 GHz spectrum auction.
