Police have revealed the reason behind the selection of Tenjo, Bogor Regency, as the location where the body of Alvaro Kiano Nugroho (6) was dumped by the suspect, Alex Iskandar (49). Investigators confirmed that the area was familiar territory for the suspect.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Aridan Satrio Utomo, explained that Alex frequently visited the Tenjo area because one of his relatives lives there. This familiarity made the suspect feel safer choosing the location to dispose of the victim’s body.
Not acting alone, Alex allegedly instructed his relative, identified as Guntur, to get rid of the child’s body. Alvaro’s body was then dumped near Cilalay Bridge, precisely at a trash disposal area beneath the bridge.
“The body was discarded at a garbage dump under the bridge,” AKBP Aridan told reporters on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
According to Alex’s confession, the location is known to be quiet and rarely passed by residents, especially at night. The lack of lighting in the area further convinced the suspect that the body would not be easily discovered.
“The suspect was confident the body would not be found quickly because the area is deserted, poorly lit, and located beneath the bridge structure,” Aridan explained.
This revelation shows that the crime was carried out with deliberate planning, taking advantage of a secluded environment believed to be safe from public view. Police are still continuing their investigation to uncover the full sequence of events and determine whether any other parties were involved in this tragic case.
