546 Land Certificates Handed Over by Minister Nusron Wahid: Central Java Residents Gain Secure Homes and Hope for the Future.

Kendal — Good news arrived for the people of Central Java. Indonesia’s Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, officially handed over 546 land certificates from the Land Consolidation program on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. These certificates were distributed to residents in Kendal Regency, Pekalongan City, and Semarang Regency, marking a concrete step toward improving community welfare and spatial organization.

Speaking during the ceremony held in Bandengan Village, Kendal, Minister Nusron emphasized that this program is not only about legalizing land ownership but also improving economic value for local communities.

“The land that used to be dead, worthless, or inaccessible—once the government built road access and issued certificates—its value increased,” said Minister Nusron.

Land Consolidation: Transforming Unfit Settlements into Livable Communities

The Land Consolidation program is a key strategy of the Ministry of ATR/BPN in restructuring land ownership, control, use, and spatial functions according to regional spatial plans. This initiative is carried out with direct community participation.

Before the program was implemented, many settlement areas were:

  • Poorly organized

  • Lacking basic infrastructure such as roads, clean water, sanitation, and waste management

  • Unclear in terms of land ownership status

Through collaboration between the central government, local governments, and related agencies such as the Ministry of Public Works, these settlements have now been transformed into more organized, healthier, safer, and more comfortable places to live.

Land Certificates: Not Just Paper, but Legal Security for Families

Beyond improving neighborhood quality, residents now have legal certainty over their land. Minister Nusron reminded citizens to protect their certificates and use them wisely.

“Do not immediately sell it or pawn it. Keep it. A certificate brings certainty. If someone tries to occupy your land, they cannot—because the ownership is legally yours,” he said.

With secure land ownership, the land is not just a place to live—it becomes a potential asset to build a business, increase household income, and strengthen long-term financial stability.

Breakdown of Certificates Distributed

During this distribution event, a total of 546 certificates were handed out:

  • Kendal Regency: 121 Ownership Certificates

  • Semarang Regency: 210 Ownership Certificates

  • Pekalongan City: 215 Certificates

Additionally, one certificate for a government-owned asset in Kendal Regency and one certificate for waqf land were also issued.

Officials Who Attended the Ceremony

Several key figures were present to support the program, including:

Their presence reflects strong government commitment to ensuring land ownership certainty and improving the lives of local communities.

The Land Consolidation program offers more than tidy neighborhoods—it provides legal security and economic opportunity for thousands of families. With these certificates, residents are no longer unsure about their future. They now have access to safer homes, more valuable land, and the confidence to plan ahead.

Owning a land certificate is not just about the present—it’s an investment in long-term wellbeing, family growth, and community prosperity.
