Jakarta – The fight against drug trafficking in the capital continues to show results. The Narcotics Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya successfully arrested a 51-year-old man identified as M, who was allegedly involved in distributing a large amount of marijuana. The arrest took place on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, around 14:17 WIB in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
According to AKP Edy Lestari, Head of Unit 5 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya, the suspect was caught with 4.6 kilograms of marijuana. “We managed to arrest the suspect with the initials M, along with 4.6 kg of marijuana,” he stated on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
It Started With a Public Tip
The case unfolded after authorities received information about suspected drug trafficking activities in the Cengkareng area involving a person named M. Acting on the report, officers conducted a field investigation.
Once the target was confirmed, police launched an operation and successfully apprehended the suspect.
Concrete Evidence: A Large Box Full of Marijuana
During the search, officers found a large cardboard box filled with marijuana, weighing a total of 4,672 grams. Police also seized a mobile phone, believed to be used in the transactions.
In an initial interrogation, M admitted that the marijuana was obtained from a supplier with the initials D, who is currently on the police’s wanted list (DPO).
Suspect Taken Into Custody
“The suspect and the evidence have been secured at the Narcotics Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya for further investigation,” AKP Edy Lestari added.
