| Heartbreaking: 6-Month-Old Baby Dies After Alleged Abuse by Biological Father, South Tangerang Police Investigate. [Illustration image] |
A heartbreaking incident has once again shocked the public. A six-month-old baby boy was reported dead after allegedly becoming a victim of abuse by his own biological father. The case is now being seriously handled by the South Tangerang Police.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2025, at around 5:00 p.m. local time, in Jombang Subdistrict, Ciputat, South Tangerang City. Local residents who became aware of the incident immediately reported it to the police.
South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Victor D.H. Inkiriwang said officers responded quickly after receiving the report. Personnel from the Ciputat Timur Police Sector, together with the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Identification Team of South Tangerang Police, immediately went to the scene to conduct an initial check and crime scene investigation.
Based on early findings at the scene and statements from several witnesses, the victim was identified by the initials ASA, a baby just six months old. The infant was allegedly subjected to physical violence by his own father, IS, aged 27.
“From what we found at the scene, the victim suffered injuries to the head,” the Police Chief said during a press briefing on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Due to the injuries, the baby’s condition rapidly worsened. He was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment. Sadly, the baby was pronounced dead while on the way to the hospital.
For further investigation purposes, the victim’s body was taken to Tangerang Regency Regional General Hospital, where a medical examination and autopsy were carried out to determine the exact cause of death and strengthen evidence in the case.
Meanwhile, the alleged perpetrator, who is the victim’s biological father, has been secured by the police. IS is currently being held at the Criminal Investigation Unit of South Tangerang Police for intensive questioning.
“The suspect has been secured and is undergoing further investigation in accordance with applicable laws,” the Police Chief emphasized.
This case adds to the growing list of child abuse incidents that have ended in tragedy and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting children, especially within the family environment. Police have assured the public that the case will be handled professionally and transparently, and that the suspect will be charged under relevant laws.
Authorities also urge the public not to hesitate to report any suspected acts of violence, particularly those involving children, so similar tragedies can be prevented in the future.
