| Tragic Incident in Cilegon 9 Year Old Boy Dies After Stabbing Police Hunt for Suspect and Motive. [Illustration image] |
A heartbreaking incident has shaken the city of Cilegon. A 9 year old boy identified by the initial E was found dead after suffering stab wounds from a sharp weapon. The case is now being handled by the Cilegon Police Sector under the Cilegon Police Department, Banten Regional Police.
According to initial information, police received a report from Bethsaida Hospital in Cilegon City on Tuesday afternoon at around 3:30 PM local time. The hospital confirmed that a child who was brought in with stab wounds had been pronounced dead after medical examination.
Early findings revealed that the incident began at approximately 2:20 PM. At that time, the victim’s father, identified as HM, received a phone call from his second child. The caller sounded panicked and urgently asked for help.
Upon receiving the distressing call, HM immediately left his workplace in the Ciwandan area and rushed to the family home located in the BBS 3 residential complex, Ciwaduk Subdistrict, Cilegon City.
Cilegon Police Chief AKBP Dr. Martua Raja Taripar Laut Silitonga, through Cilegon City Police Chief Commissioner Firman Hamid, explained that when the father arrived and opened the door, he found his child lying face down with severe injuries and heavy bleeding.
Seeing his son’s critical condition, the victim was immediately taken to Bethsaida Hospital using a private vehicle, accompanied by a witness. Unfortunately, after medical staff conducted examinations, the child’s life could not be saved.
“Initial medical findings indicate that the victim suffered injuries caused by a sharp object,” police stated.
Following the report, officers from the Cilegon Police Sector, including criminal investigators and community police officers, swiftly moved to the scene. They conducted an initial crime scene investigation together with the identification unit of the Cilegon Police Criminal Investigation Division to collect evidence and clues.
The Cilegon Police Chief emphasized that the police are fully committed to resolving the case in a professional and transparent manner. Investigators are working intensively to identify the suspect and uncover the motive behind the tragic incident that claimed a young child’s life.
“We express our deepest condolences over this tragic event. The investigation is ongoing, and all available information and evidence are being carefully examined,” he said.
Police also urged the public to remain calm and avoid speculation or spreading unverified information. The community is encouraged to trust the legal process and allow law enforcement to handle the case properly.
“We ask the public not to spread unconfirmed information. Official updates will be delivered through authorized channels,” he added.
As of now, police continue to question witnesses and gather evidence to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident that has deeply affected the people of Cilegon.
