Al-Nassr vs Al-Qadsiah 1-2: Cristiano Ronaldo Penalty Fails to Stop Second Straight League Defeat.

Al-Nassr suffered another disappointing night after falling 1-2 to Al-Qadsiah, as Cristiano Ronaldo’s late penalty proved insufficient to prevent a second consecutive league loss. Despite pushing hard in the closing stages, the hosts were unable to complete a comeback and had to accept a frustrating result.

The match started with high intensity from Al-Nassr. Kingsley Coman tested the Al-Qadsiah defense inside the opening minute, while goalkeeper Koen Casteels was forced into early action to deny a close-range effort soon after. The home side looked confident, but they failed to convert early momentum into goals.

Al-Qadsiah gradually settled into the game and began creating problems. Julian Quinones came close midway through the first half, forcing a sharp save from Nawaf Al Aqidi. That warning sign became reality shortly after the break.

Just six minutes into the second half, a costly mistake changed the game. Al Aqidi moved out wide to clear the ball, but his attempt struck Quinones. The forward reacted quickly and rolled the loose ball into an empty net to give Al-Qadsiah the lead.

Although Al-Qadsiah lost Casteels to injury, the setback did not slow them down. Moments after substitute goalkeeper Ahmed Al Kassar entered the field following a lengthy delay, Al-Qadsiah doubled their advantage. Nahitan Nandez fired home the rebound after Al Aqidi initially saved Mateo Retegui’s powerful shot.

Al-Nassr finally found hope late in the match when a handball by Jehad Thikri resulted in a penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up in the 81st minute and calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner, cutting the deficit to one goal.

The goal sparked renewed pressure from Al-Nassr, with crosses and attacks pouring into the box. Coman came close with a late header, but the equalizer never arrived. The final whistle confirmed a 2-1 victory for Al-Qadsiah.

This result leaves Al-Nassr four points behind league leaders Al-Hilal, increasing pressure as the title race intensifies. Meanwhile, Al-Qadsiah continue to be a difficult opponent, extending their impressive run of results against Al-Nassr.

Match Insights
Al-Qadsiah have now won four consecutive league matches against Al-Nassr, surpassing their record from the first 15 meetings between the two sides. Efficiency was key, as they scored twice from just seven total shots.

Al-Nassr, by contrast, registered 13 attempts but struggled with finishing. Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty took his season tally to 14 goals, and he remains the most active shooter in the league, underlining his influence even as results go against his team.
