Persita Extends Winning Streak to Four, Borneo FC Falls Short in Super League 2026

Persita is on fire! 💪 The team, known as the Pendekar Cisadane, defeated Borneo FC Samarinda 2-0 in Week 17 of the 2026 Super League, marking their fourth consecutive victory and strengthening their spot in the standings.

Playing at Indomilk Arena on Friday (Jan 9, 2026), Persita took an early lead just three minutes into the game. Javlon Guseynov finished a perfect pass from Hokky Caraka with a long-range shot that found the top left corner, leaving Borneo’s goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata helpless.

Persita nearly doubled their lead in the 22nd minute when Matheus Alves had a chance, but Nadeo made an excellent save. Borneo responded in the 37th minute through Juan Villa, but Persita’s goalkeeper Igor Rodrigues was up to the task. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the home side.

After halftime, Borneo tried to mount a comeback. Mariano Peralta unleashed a powerful shot in the 48th minute, only for Igor to block it. Persita had another opportunity in the 59th minute when Zulfan Djiaulhaq attempted a long-range shot, but the ball went off target.

Borneo continued to press with chances from Douglas Coutinho in the 63rd and 65th minutes, as well as Villa in the 76th, but none found the net. Instead, Persita sealed the win in the 86th minute. After Aleksa Andrejic was fouled by Mohammad Al-Husseini inside the penalty area, Andrejic calmly converted the penalty, fooling Nadeo and making it 2-0.

The score stayed 2-0 until the final whistle. With this win, Persita sits safely in fifth place with 31 points. Borneo remains at the top with 37 points, but their lead is now under threat. Malut United (34 points) faces Persebaya on Saturday, while Persija (35 points) and Persib (35 points) clash on Sunday.
