Hezbollah claims rocket attacks targeting IDF military equipment in southern Lebanon, striking Markaba, Wadi al-Asafir, and the al-Malkiyya border area.

Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for an attack targeting Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) military equipment in southern Lebanon. The information was reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) on Friday, citing a statement released by the group.

According to the report, Hezbollah said the attack targeted several Israeli military positions located near the Lebanon–Israel border. The incident is part of a series of military activities that have recently increased tensions in the area.

The group stated that a third rocket salvo struck a newly established IDF position in the village of Markaba. The area is located close to the border between Lebanon and Israel, which has frequently seen cross-border incidents.

Hezbollah also claimed that additional strikes targeted the Wadi al-Asafir area toward the southern district of al-Khiyam. The report added that the al-Malkiyya zone was also among the areas targeted in the attacks.

Attacks Target Israeli Military Positions

In its statement, Hezbollah said the operation focused on concentrations of Israeli military equipment deployed in several strategic locations along the border.

The rocket strikes reportedly hit a recently established Israeli military position in Markaba. The area has been one of the focal points of tensions between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.

In addition, the Wadi al-Asafir area leading toward the southern district of al-Khiyam was also targeted in follow-up strikes. The al-Malkiyya zone, located near the Israeli border, was likewise reported to be a target.

Evacuation Warning Issued to Israeli Border Residents

Earlier the same day, Hezbollah issued a warning to Israeli residents living in border communities.

The group urged civilians residing within a five-kilometer (three-mile) radius of the Lebanon border to evacuate their homes. The warning came amid heightened military activity in the border region.

Such statements signal rising tensions along the Lebanon–Israel frontier, where exchanges of fire between armed groups and Israeli forces have occurred repeatedly in recent months.

Ongoing Tensions Along the Lebanon–Israel Border

The border region between Lebanon and Israel has long been a flashpoint involving armed groups and Israeli military forces.

Hezbollah’s latest claim of attacks highlights the continued instability in southern Lebanon and surrounding border areas. The development has also raised concerns about the possibility of further escalation in the region.
