Governor of West Kalimantan, Drs. H. Ria Norsan, MM., MH., officially sent off 50 young dancers who will represent the province in the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence celebration at the State Palace, Jakarta. The send-off ceremony took place at the Governor’s Hall on Thursday (August 7, 2025). This year, West Kalimantan is among four regions invited by the national committee to perform at the prestigious state event, alongside North Sulawesi, Jakarta, and Banyumas Regency.
“Alhamdulillah, this year our dancers have increased to 50 people. This is the second time West Kalimantan has performed at the State Palace. Such an invitation shows that our province’s artistic talents are recognized on the national stage,” said Ria Norsan. He reminded the dancers to maintain discipline, health, and proper etiquette during their stay in Jakarta, and to give their best performance to make the province proud.
Head of the West Kalimantan Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office, Windy Prihastari, stated that this participation reflects the province’s commitment to developing the creative economy and performing arts. The troupe will present a dance titled “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika – Gema Emas 2045”, representing the spirit of diversity and the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. The dancers will undergo intensive rehearsals in Jakarta from August 9–16, 2025, before performing at the Independence Day Flag Ceremony on August 17, 2025.
The presence of 50 young dancers from West Kalimantan at the State Palace highlights the region’s readiness to compete at the national level. Their performance is expected not only to captivate the audience but also to inspire other young Indonesians to contribute to the nation’s progress through art and culture, in line with the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
