JBL has officially introduced its latest Bluetooth speaker, JBL Grip, designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Announced globally in August 2025, this device features a rugged body with IP68 water and dust resistance, making it safe to use at the beach, by the pool, or even in the rain. Its compact design is complemented by a four-color LED light that syncs with the beat of your music.
Powered by a 16-watt full-range oval driver measuring 32×80 mm, the JBL Grip delivers a frequency range of 70 Hz to 20 kHz. It supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Auracast technology, allowing users to connect multiple JBL Grip units into a larger audio system. The built-in battery offers up to 14 hours of playback time and can be fully charged in about three hours via USB-C.
Other notable features include lighting modes such as breathing, rhythmic animation, and static glow, all of which can be customized through the JBL Portable app. “Our goal is to create an audio device that is not only durable for outdoor adventures but also adds a touch of style with lighting that responds to the music,” said a JBL spokesperson in the official release.
Measuring 152.5 × 64 × 65.2 mm and weighing 385 grams, the JBL Grip comes with a carrying strap and rubber feet for stability. Initial color options include white, red, black, and blue, with orange and navy blue set to follow. In China, the speaker is priced at USD 110 (around IDR 1.45 million). The launch of JBL Grip is expected to heat up competition in the premium portable speaker market, particularly among consumers who value durability and sound quality for outdoor activities.
