TNI and Landak Agriculture Office Unite to Strengthen Food Security Through Rice Field Development in Ngabang

In an effort to strengthen national food security, Commander of Kodim 1210/Landak, Lt. Col. Kav Andy Setio Untoro, S.H., M.Han., together with the Head of the Landak Agriculture Office, visited the rice field development program site in Amboyo Utara Village, Beram Hamlet, Ngabang District, Landak Regency, on Thursday (October 31, 2025).

The visit aimed to ensure that the entire project is progressing according to the planned schedule and targets. This rice field creation program is part of a joint initiative between the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the local government to improve the welfare of rural communities through agricultural development.

Lt. Col. Andy emphasized that the project must be carried out responsibly to ensure its benefits reach local farmers directly.

“The Rice Field Development Program is a concrete step to strengthen our national food security. Therefore, it must be implemented according to the proper standards and truly hit its target,” he said.

During the visit, the Dandim also spoke with local workers and residents, encouraging them to take an active role in maintaining and managing the newly developed farmland.

“The success of this program doesn’t only depend on the physical development but also on the active participation of farmers in cultivating and taking care of their land,” he added.

Through this initiative, the agricultural productivity in Landak Regency is expected to increase significantly. As a result, the agricultural sector could become a major driver of the local economy while contributing to the nation’s overall food resilience.

The inspection went smoothly and was warmly welcomed by the local community, who expressed optimism that the program would improve harvest yields and create new economic opportunities for farmers across Landak.
