Ahead of New Year’s Eve, a relaxed evening at a small local food stall in Sengah Temila turned warmer than usual. Not because of the coffee or casual chats, but due to the friendly presence of officers from the Sengah Temila Police Sector, who stopped by on Tuesday night, December 30, 2025.
The visit was part of a dialog-based patrol aimed at keeping public security and order stable and peaceful ahead of the New Year celebrations. Instead of coming across as formal or distant, the officers blended in with the community, sitting down and chatting casually with residents who were enjoying their time at the stall.
In this friendly atmosphere, the police shared important public safety messages. They encouraged residents to celebrate New Year’s Eve in a simple and responsible way and reminded them to avoid activities that could disturb public order.
Landak Police Chief AKBP Devi Ariantari, through Sengah Temila Police Chief AKP Ecep Maman Hermawan, explained that this activity reflects the police’s commitment to being present among the community. The goal is not only to maintain security but also to build strong and positive communication with residents.
He emphasized that police officers should not only appear when problems arise. Through a persuasive and human-centered approach, the community can become more aware of the importance of working together to keep their environment safe and comfortable.
During the visit, residents were advised to avoid excessive celebrations, stay away from alcoholic beverages, refrain from setting off fireworks, and remain alert to potential security disturbances in their surroundings.
AKP Ecep also reminded residents that if they notice anything suspicious, they should immediately report it to the police so it can be followed up promptly.
The community welcomed the police presence warmly. Residents said they felt safer, more respected, and appreciated the friendly and approachable way the officers communicated with them.
Through this kind of dialog-based patrol, the Sengah Temila Police hope to strengthen cooperation between the police and the community, ensuring a safe, peaceful, and orderly situation as the New Year approaches.
