The legal troubles surrounding well-known beauty doctor and influencer Richard Lee have officially escalated. Indonesia’s Metro Jaya Police have named dr. Richard Lee as a suspect in an alleged beauty product fraud case related to consumer protection violations.
The case stems from a report filed by Samira Farahnaz, widely known as dr. Detective or Doktif. The police report was officially registered on December 2, 2024, and accuses Richard Lee of misleading consumers through certain beauty products and aesthetic treatments.
According to Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Reonald Simanjuntak, investigators formally designated Richard Lee as a suspect on December 15, 2025. The announcement was delivered to journalists on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
After the suspect status was confirmed, investigators moved quickly by issuing a summons for Richard Lee to undergo questioning on December 23, 2025. However, the scheduled examination did not take place as planned.
Police revealed that Richard Lee requested a rescheduled appearance. Authorities are now waiting for confirmation regarding his attendance at the next examination date.
“Based on information from our investigators, the suspect requested a reschedule. If there is no confirmation or appearance on January 7, it will certainly become a matter of concern,” Reonald explained.
This case has drawn widespread public attention, especially because it involves beauty products and treatments that are closely tied to consumer safety and trust. Many consumers are now urging authorities to handle the case transparently to ensure accountability and stronger protection for the public.
