Iran says France, China, and Russia contacted Tehran over a possible ceasefire, but insists enemies must pay the price for the assassination of Khamenei.

Iran has revealed that several countries are attempting to initiate diplomatic talks for a ceasefire amid rising regional tensions. However, Tehran insists that those responsible for the assassination of Khamenei must face consequences.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, said several countries have contacted Iran to discuss the possibility of an Iran ceasefire. The statement was delivered during an interview with state television.

According to him, countries including France, China, and Russia have been involved in diplomatic communications with Tehran.

Gharibabadi explained that the talks emerged after rising tensions, which Tehran described as an “open act of aggression” against the country. Despite the outreach, he emphasized that the final decision regarding a ceasefire rests solely with the Iranian government.

“Several countries have delivered messages regarding a possible halt to the conflict. However, the final decision remains with the authorities in Tehran,” Gharibabadi said.

At the same time, the Iranian official stressed that those considered responsible for the assassination of Khamenei would not escape accountability. He stated that Iran’s enemies “must pay the price” for the act.

The remarks highlight Iran’s firm stance as international diplomatic pressure grows. Tehran maintains that any path toward an Iran ceasefire cannot be separated from demands for accountability over what it calls an attack on the country’s sovereignty.

So far, no further details have been disclosed regarding the timeline or mechanism for potential ceasefire discussions. However, diplomatic contacts involving several major countries indicate ongoing international efforts to prevent further escalation.
