HIPKA West Kalimantan Officially Inaugurated, Ready to Boost Economic Growth to 8% Through Synergy and Innovation. |
Pontianak – The Regional Board of the Alumni Association of Islamic Student Entrepreneurs (BPD-HIPKA) across West Kalimantan has officially been inaugurated for the 2025–2029 term. The inauguration ceremony took place on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the official residence of the Pontianak City Council Chair and was attended by key figures, including the Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan, Dr. Harisson, M.Kes., who also serves as Chair of MW KAHMI Kalbar.
The ceremony was led by Ahmad Muntaha, Secretary General of the Central Board of HIPKA. The event was attended by HIPKA board members from all regencies and cities in West Kalimantan.
This inauguration marks an important momentum to strengthen the role of entrepreneur alumni of HMI (Islamic Student Association). It aims to build solid synergy between entrepreneurs, the government, and the community to support economic growth and create a more conducive business climate.
In his speech, Dr. Harisson revealed that the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) has set an ambitious target of 7.9% economic growth for West Kalimantan, while the President of Indonesia has set a national target of 8%.
“The central government has high hopes for West Kalimantan. We must not waste this opportunity. There is so much potential here that can be developed to reach the 7.9% growth target,” he said.
West Kalimantan’s economy grew 5% in the first quarter of 2025, higher than the national average of 4.8%. This makes the province the highest-growing economy among all Kalimantan provinces.
“We’re already on the right track,” Dr. Harisson added.
He encouraged HIPKA board members to continue innovating and working together to unlock business potential and create meaningful impact.
“With intellectual spirit, integrity, and solidarity, HIPKA Kalbar can become a strategic partner in producing competitive entrepreneurs who contribute directly to regional development.”
The event carried the theme “Fintech Power Up: Synergy of BPD HIPKA Across West Kalimantan for 8% Economic Growth,” reflecting HIPKA’s enthusiasm for exploring local potential and boosting the economy through financial technology and digital innovation.
West Kalimantan holds tremendous opportunities in various sectors, such as:
-
Agriculture
-
Fisheries
-
Renewable Energy
-
Eco-tourism
However, to unlock this potential, there needs to be active collaboration between the government, local communities, and strategic organizations like HIPKA.
Ahmad Muntaha emphasized the importance of building a productive organizational culture where ideas don’t just remain discussions but turn into real business projects.
“Always prioritize strong communication and synergy with local governments and relevant institutions. HIPKA must play a strategic role in local economic development. Entrepreneurs should be key players—not just spectators—in their own land,” he said.
He also urged newly inaugurated regional boards to maximize the natural and economic resources in their respective areas.
“With effective collaboration, we can turn local resources into business opportunities that benefit the people and improve community welfare through HIPKA-managed business units,” he concluded.
The inauguration of HIPKA West Kalimantan’s new leadership is more than a formal event—it's a signal of regional economic revival driven by innovation, partnership, and entrepreneurship. With clear goals and strong support, HIPKA is ready to be a strategic force in shaping a more prosperous future for West Kalimantan.
