KAHMI West Kalimantan Leadership 2025–2030 Officially Inaugurated, Sets Ambitious Agenda for Change. |
Pontianak – The new leadership board of the West Kalimantan Regional Chapter of the Alumni Corps of the Islamic Students Association (KAHMI) for the 2025–2030 term has been officially inaugurated. The ceremony, full of enthusiasm and hope, took place on Saturday night, July 26, 2025, at the Istana Rakyat (Kalbar Pavilion).
The inauguration wasn’t just a symbolic event—it marked a strong statement of unity and a renewed spirit of dedication among HMI alumni from various generations. Several prominent figures attended, including Dr. M. Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, the National Coordinator of KAHMI’s Presidium, West Kalimantan Governor H. Ria Norsan, and other national figures and alumni.
During the event, Governor H. Ria Norsan shared a heartfelt speech, recalling his early days as a humble yet spirited HMI activist.
“Whenever I hear HMI’s struggle songs, I get emotional. They remind me of how we used to fight with so little, but with so much passion,” he said.
He urged all alumni to go beyond slogans and prove their commitment to change through real actions, collective work, and progressive ideas.
One of the most anticipated speeches came from Dr. M. Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, who took the stage with a reflective and inspiring message. He shared his journey from leading KAHMI in Banjarmasin to now being entrusted as the National Coordinator.“Don’t let the HMI cadre system dry out. Without HMI
, there would be no alumni,” Rifqi emphasized.
He also pointed out one of KAHMI’s main challenges: the lack of strong entrepreneurs. Despite having many professors and PhDs, he said, the organization lacks business leaders who can drive economic independence.
“We have many academics but very few entrepreneurs. If we want to be strong leaders, it starts with building economic self-reliance,” he added.
Rifqi highlighted West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan as a prime example of an HMI alumnus who succeeded both economically and politically.
The newly appointed Chairman of KAHMI West Kalimantan, dr. H. Harisson, M.Kes, shared a strong and optimistic vision for the organization’s future.
“Today marks the beginning of an intellectual and moral responsibility. It’s a big mandate to make KAHMI West Kalimantan more empowered, more strategic, and more impactful for the people and the nation,” Harisson said.
He emphasized that KAHMI is not just an alumni group but a “big house of Muslim intellectuals in Indonesia.”
Following the outcomes of the 2025 KAHMI National Coordination and National Gathering Meetings, Harisson said the regional board would focus on critical issues such as:
-
Food security
-
Energy independence
-
Strengthening education
-
Civilized political reform
He also pushed for stronger intellectual consolidation, economic empowerment, and community service in healthcare, education, and environmental protection.
This event goes beyond routine leadership transitions. It symbolizes a strategic revival of KAHMI’s role in shaping West Kalimantan’s future and beyond. With a blend of youthful energy and seasoned wisdom, KAHMI is expected to become a more impactful force in society.
Rifqi also reminded the audience that KAHMI must be an inclusive, civilized, and intellectual organization, avoiding confrontational activism and embracing thoughtful, values-based engagement.
As part of KAHMI’s broader national agenda, Rifqi announced a series of six regional gatherings that will be held across Indonesia to strengthen alumni networks and build solidarity.
The upcoming locations include:
-
Batam
-
Nusantara Capital City (IKN)
-
Makassar
-
Ternate
-
Bandung
-
Semarang
These events are aimed at enhancing inter-regional communication and building a stronger, more united KAHMI across the country.
The inauguration of KAHMI West Kalimantan’s 2025–2030 leadership marks a new chapter of intellectual leadership and social impact. With strong visions, inclusive values, and a focus on real change, KAHMI is ready to step forward—not just as a network of alumni—but as a driving force for national transformation.
