This Chinese film, created with the collaboration of over 4,000 professionals from 138 animation studios, has become a global cultural phenomenon, grossing over two billion dollars worldwide. The film is directed by Yan Yu, also known by the pseudonym Jiao Zi, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Nezha Conquers the Dragon King follows the story of a demon boy named Nezha and his friend as they battle the Dragon King and his army. However, after being struck by lightning, the heroes transform into spirits, and only the Sacred Lotus can return them to the living world.
The soundtrack was composed by Rock Chen, Chu Wan-Pin, and Yang Rui, who incorporated traditional Chinese instruments and folk melodies. Among them is the Great Song of the Dong People, which is officially recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.
