Weighing only 2.27 kg (about 5 lbs), the Kamingo system consists of three components:

The synchronous motor uses permanent magnets and delivers up to 750 watts of peak power and 40 Nm of torque, which is more than enough to tackle hills or longer commutes with ease.
Smart Bottle-Shaped Battery
The 266 Wh battery is cleverly designed to resemble a water bottle, making it easy to mount and visually discreet. On a single charge, it offers a riding range of up to 90 kilometers (about 56 miles), depending on the terrain and mode used.

The motor mounts to the rear triangle of standard bike frames. The controller comes with a small color display that attaches to the handlebars, allowing easy mode switching. For added safety, the system includes fall and jam sensors, along with regenerative braking, which charges the battery while slowing down.
Price and Release Date
Kamingo’s detachable e-bike motor is now available for pre-order on Kickstarter, starting at $349. The first units are expected to ship in December 2025.
